about

'Slouching Towards Bethlehem' was lifted from a great book of essays by Joan Didion. It started out as a DIRATZ song, but the band imploded before we could tackle it. Very Morphine-inspired beginning. Listen especially to Forrest Fang's violin and Rich O'Meara's mallets on this - both had to duplicate complex and off-the-rails melodies. Thanks to October Equus' Angel Ontalva who jumped in at the last minute to add some inspired guitar work. Jerry King on both bass and trombones.
